Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach formoosa at (858) 567-9091; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Diego follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

My friend and I ordered the cloud donut, beef soup noodle, sooma drink and dry noodle with minced pork over raw egg yolk. The food was great it’s quality you can taste the flavor of the noodles and donut. The cocktail I had tasted like a dragon fruit soju which was tasty 8/10 The dry noodles with pork was a solid 9/10. It’s heavy with the sauce The donut was hot and fresh and with the condensed milk it added more flavor The popcorn chicken basil was meh, could have more pepper or spicy with the chicken I wouldn’t order again it’s not something you got out of your way to get 6/10 Overall the atmosphere the waiter Aiden is good and attentive need to add 1 more staff because it’s a lot of task for one person in a Restraunt. Overall 89/100. Needs better service more waiter. Food was good but the popcorn chicken you can not order it.

James made excellent recommendations, and the service was prompt. I tried several dishes, and these were my favorites—the ones I would recommend most. I’m Taiwanese, so I know authentic Taiwanese food! The spicy wontons, beef roll, beef noodle soup, and pork rice are all must-tries. The lychee lemonade, milk tea, and oolong tea are also excellent. 10/10—I love the Taiwanese food here!

I went on a Friday night I was seated immediately at the bar. The staff (James ans Don) was nice and accommodating. What really surprise me was how good the food was. I particularly enjoyed the beef before and the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. There were different options for the noodle type which were straight or squiggly. And the squiggly noodle gave such a good texture. All the food was good and nothing disappointed me. I would recommend!

First visit here! The space is a bit small with more bar-style seating available. We ordered the beef noodle soup, sesame noodles, and pork over rice—all were tasty, though slightly on the salty side. Every bite really brought back the authentic taste of Taiwan—it felt so comforting and satisfying! The portions are generous and definitely filling. We also noticed many customers ordering the beef noodle soup with lots of meat and even a whole egg, which looked delicious. Looking forward to seeing more menu options in the future!
